SSP Spelling Piano App

What is SSP? SSP represents Speech Sound Pics. A fully differentiated, fun, engaging and explicit approach to teach reading and spelling – in fact it can be your whole literacy program. The SSP approach has changed the way I teach reading. If you’re looking for something new that really wires student’s brains for reading success I highly recommend SSP to teach reading and spelling in Prep or Kindergarten. For older struggling students you can use Speedy SSP to fill in those gaps and rewire these student’s brains for reading. My greatest love of SSP is that it promotes the importance of Phonemic Awareness before Phonics and then teaches Phonemic Awareness and Phonics together. Everything is coded and students become detectives and independent learners as they decode and encode by listening for speech sounds – it’s actually really simple. The process supports reading for the dyslexic brain and is super fun! SSP is differentiated, has an online site for home or school student access, includes online readers and all teaching resources required can be purchased online for a reasonable cost.

You can follow SSP classes on You Tube and Facebook. There is a fantastic app for ipad called “SSP Spelling Piano” which is currently free. The app focuses on the development of Phonemic Awareness and helps learners crack the alphabetic code quickly and easily.
